Savannah.

Seriously, if the site of these beautiful trees and the spanish moss don’t take your breath away… I’m not sure what will.

The couple had their ceremony at the fountain in the park. Unfortunately, the sun is too overpowering in any of my photos to actually post something of quality but know that it was gorgeous. They could not have been blessed with a more perfect day.

Ceremony was intimate. Reception was held at Vic’s on the River and the food made me want to pack my bags and move down there even more.

Watching them on their special day made me so excited for my own. I’ve now decided to move my ceremony outside and hope that I am blessed with weather like that of the picture.

We ended up spending the entire weekend in Savannah. The wedding was Friday afternoon. We definitely made great use of our time the rest of the weekend.

We ate way too much food. But well worth it, I mean, how can I turn down chicken and waffles… especially in slider form.

And we drank. The DC area is missing a slushy bar. My liver will dream about these babies for weeks.

And ate some more.

And I rode a bull. Not for very long, or very well. But, I did it.

Chris and I agreed that Savannah is one of our favorite places that we’ve been to in America. It is so picturesque, it reminded us of college, and the southern charm. If you ever have the chance to visit, make it a point to do so because besides eating and drinking we did do a lot of other things. We went on a ghost tour, visited the Forrest Gump bench and the square it was filmed in, walked all over town, attended a block party, rode a trolly, and relaxed. It was marvelous.

I’d never been to a destination wedding before this one. I mean, I’ve been to weddings out of town, but never one that was so far away I’d have to stay the night. It was great and I can see now why people choose to do this. It really does allow your family and friends a chance for a vacation/mini-vacay.

Hopefully, someone else will decide to go this route and we’ll be able to do it all over again. Place is not an issue, we will be there! πŸ™‚
